Total Bank is offering a 2.55% APY online CD that’s available for terms from 3 months up to 1 year. The minimum deposit on the account is $1,000 and the maximum deposit is $99,000. Total Bank is also offering a pretty competitive eSavings Account with a rate of 2.05% APY.

It appears that Total Bank may use hard credit pulls when opening new accounts so be aware of that. The early withdrawal penalty is 3 months’ interest for terms up to 6 months and half the interest of the term for longer than 6 months which is a pretty brutal penalty.

For the eSavings Account there’s a $100 minimum deposit but no minimum balance requirements. You need at least a $500 balance to earn interest and there’s a limit of 6 withdrawals per statement cycle. One bad part about the account is that interest is deposited quarterly and if you withdraw before the quarter you don’t receive the interest for that quarter.
