Here’s a great checking account deal for residents of Washington State. Fibre Credit Union is offering a reward checking account called Choice Checking. If you meet the monthly requirements you get a very high 3.25% APY on balances up to $20,000 and 0.90% APY on the balance portion over $20,000. If you don’t meet the requirements the interest rate is bumped down to 0.10% APY and as a nice perk all ATM fees are refunded.

The monthly requirements to get this aren’t too bad if you use your debit card a lot. You need 12 debit card purchases per month and 1 direct deposit or credit card purchase. You also need to receive e-statements.

There’s only a $5 intial deposit required and there’s no minimum balance requirements or monthly fees, so it’s a pretty good checking account.

Membership is open to those who live, work, worship, or go to school in Cowlitz County, Washington.

Branches of Fibre Credit Union are located in Longview, Kelso, Castle Rock, Woodland and Kalama, Washington.
