HSBC Bank Free PowerCost Monitor Checking Account Bonus

January 22nd, 2009

plus_right2HSBC Bank is giving away a free promotional PowerCost Monitor when you open a Plus Checking account with them. The PowerCost Monitor monitors the power usage of your home and can help save you money on your electricity bill. The PowerCost Monitor is a $150 value.

To qualify for this promotion you must open a Plus Checking account with at least $8,000 of new money and maintain at least that amount in combined accounts until the end of March. PowerCost Monitor coupon will be delivered by the end of May and you must keep your account open for at least 180 days after opening the account.

Also, to avoid a $15 monthly maintenance fee you have to maintain a combined account balance of $15,000. Since you can maintain this amount in combined accounts I recommend you open an online savings account with HSBC and keep most of your money in that account. The yield on their savings account is currently at 2.6%.

This bank deal is available until the end of February and there doesn’t appear to be a promo code needed when you apply. HSBC bank is a FDIC insured bank.
