Discover Bank Free $50 CD Bonus

February 13th, 2009

Discover Bank is offering a promotional free $50 bonus when you open a new CD with a minimum deposit of $10,000. The offer lasts until the end of February and you must enter in the promo code D100739 online in the box that says “offer code” to get the bonus.

Discover Bank is offering some competitive long term certificates of deposit including 4% APY for 7 years and 2.75% APY for 1 year . $50 for a 1 year CD with a $10,000 deposit would effectively make the rate for that year be 3.25%.

AAA members can also receive a .05% rate increase on all CD rates. This isn’t available to all zip codes so check with Discover.

The CDs have a 6 months’ interest withdrawal penalty on 1-5 year terms. They also have some of the best IRA CD rates that equal their CD rates.

Discover Bank also offers competitive rates on money market accounts with 2.4% APY for a $50,000 minimum balance and 2.05% APY for a $2,500 minimum balance to. You need to have a balance of $2,500 to avoid a $10 monthly fee. AAA members again get the .05% boost and only need $1,500 to avoid fees.

Discover Bank has a 5 star rating from bankrate in terms of bank soundness so it’s one of the safest banks to deposit your money into. Discover Bank is a FDIC insured bank.

Please be sure to use Offer Code D100825 on the account opening form. That allows us to automatically ensure that the funds are credited to your account.

I called DISCOVERBANK and they could not find any offer code for the month of February. So it seems that the offer codes D100739 or D100825 is not valid.
